
In our present generation a lot of new languages influenced Philippines and the way how they communicate in everyday living. Most of the millennial’s now don’t know some of the Filipino words that they should know. So i created this to introduce some words that for sure they haven’t heard or at least heard sometimes but they don’t really know its meaning.
1). 
GUMON (ADDICTED)
Physically and mentally dependent on a particular substance, or thing and unable to stop taking it without incurring adverse effects.
Pisikal at pag-iisip na nakasalalay sa isang partikular na substansiya, o bagay at hindi nagawang itigil ang pagkuha nito nang hindi nagdudulot ng masamang epekto.
Example: John is addicted to Facebook that’s why he couldn’t sleep at night early.
Si John ay gumung-gumon sa Facebook kaya’t hindi siya makatulog nang maaga sa gabi.
2). 
TSINAKLIT (PLACED OR KEPT)
Put in a particular position.
Ilagay sa isang partikular na posisyon.
Example: I placed the books on the top of the table next to you.
Itsinaklit ko ang mga aklat sa tuktok ng lamesa sa tabi mo.
3). 
BALUMBON (SCROLL OR ROLL)
A roll of parchment or paper for writing or painting on.
Isang roll ng pergamino o papel para sa pagsusulat o pagpipinta.
Example: Scrolls are very old and only few people uses it.
Makaluma na ang balumbon kaya iilan na lng ang gumagamit nito.
4). 
LUNGIB (CAVE)
A large underground chamber, typically of natural origin, in a hillside or cliff.
Isang malaking underground kamara, karaniwang natural na pinagmulan, sa isang dalisdis ng bundok o talampas.
Example: This cave is so dark and scary.
Ang lungib na ito ay napakadilim at nakakatakot.
5). 
DARANG (EXPOSED TO HEAT OF FIRE)
Fire that burns halfway through.
Apoy na tumutupok sa kalahat-lahatan.
Example: I am exposed again to you’re beauty.
Nadarang na naman ako sa iyong ganda.
6). 
TAKAKAYAN (DISCUSSION)
The action or process of talking about something, typically in order to reach a decision or to exchange ideas.
Proseso ng pakikipag-usap tungkol sa isang bagay, kadalasan upang maabot ang isang desisyon o upang makipagpalitan ng mga ideya.
Example: Let’s have a discussion about our research topic that we have to defend.
Magkaroon tayo ng takakayan tungkol sa paksa ng pananaliksik natin na kailangan nating depensahan.
7). 
TAMBILANG (DIGIT)
Any of the numerals from 0 to 9, especially when forming part of a number.
Alinman sa mga numerong mula 0 hanggang 9, lalo na kapag bumubuo ng bahagi ng isang numero.
Example: What is the digit that you have picked?
Ano ang tambilang na iyong nabunot?
8). 
TIKLIS (SMALL BASKET)
Stiff container that is used for carrying or storing objects.
Matigas na lalagyan na ginagamit para sa pagdala o pag-iimbak ng mga bagay.
Example: Do you have a small basket with you?
Mayroon ka bang dalang tiklis?
9). 
KAGAW (GERMS)
A microorganism, especially one that causes disease.
Isang mikrobbyo, na nagiging sanhi ng sakit.
Examples: There is a lot of germs in the trash.
Maraming mikrobyo sa basurahan.
10). 
PALAKAS-TINIG (COMPUTER SPEAKERS)
A device that converts analog audio signals into the equivalent air vibrations in order to make audible sound.
Isang aparato na nag-convert ng analog audio signal sa katumbas na vibrations ng hangin upang gumawa ng tunog.
Example: I need to buy a new computer speaker.
Kailangan kong bumili ng bagong palakas-tinig.
There are a lot of Filipino words that nowadays not so used anymore. We should treasure our own language and use it everyday. Filipino words are deep sometimes and fun to learn. Once Jose Rizal said “Ang hindi marunong magmahal sa sariling wika ay higit pa sa hayop at malansang isda”.
